A Taxi driver in Thimphu reported that he overheard few villagers discussing recent forest fires. In their conversation, he said, they were saying that the main reason for torching the forest ablaze was so they could see the Helicopter. “Why just Thimphu? Even we voted for PDP.” They said.
To further dig into the issue, our special field correspondent Shakti Karpola interviewed some of the villagers, and they testified it to be true.
Khandu, a cow herder from Chuzom, showed his remorse over things taking this turn and starving his cows.
Many around the country have already started to join the cult; Pema Lhatu from Trashigang said, “If that’s what it takes to see the Helicopter, then that’s the least we could do.”
Perhaps this is a worst case scenario of Government not realizing people’s right. Equality is not served best when government dictates who gets to see the Helicopter and who doesn’t.
On the related news, a villager from Tormashong, Tsakaling, jumped off a cliff hoping to get a Helicopter ride, which he didn’t. He died, haha.
